Noor is a seven-minute short film told through poetic realism and documentary-style visuals, following a young woman navigating an unfamiliar city while searching for belonging. Through sound, colour, imagery, and poetic voiceover, the film explores identity, memory, and displacement. Reflections in windows, mirrors, and water echo the meaning of Noor’s name, “light,” as she moves between cultures, childhood memories, and daily rituals. Inspired by A24 aesthetics and shot with intimate handheld cinematography, Noor is a gentle, personal meditation on diasporic identity and the quiet act of carrying one’s past while learning where and how to belong.
